SETUP
Setting up the TV was a breeze – it was simply a matter of following some on-screen instructions. There was one thing worth mentioning though – during setup you are given a choice between “home” or “business”. Huh? It turns out that the “home” setting is designed to save you energy or electricity. But if you like your colors bright or saturated, you’ll probably want to choose the “business” setting.
Put two screws through the stand to mount it, plug it in, and you’re ready to go.
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE AND FEEL
Looks stylish. The size of a large computer monitor, and very light. Because it is so light, I would advise caution when finding a place for the TV to sit in your home. I could imagine it being knocked over by playing children or a pet. There is, of course, a warranty, should the worst happen.
DVD and HDMI inputs are easy to reach.
PICTURE
Picture quality is 720p, which is mid-range as you would expect for this price.
It’s picture is bright and clear, and the viewing angles are surprisingly wide.
If you don’t like the picture out of the box, you can set up the brightness and color levels to match your own tastes.
SOUND
Some consumers have complained about what they percieve to be “poor quality sound” with this TV. Yes, the built-in speakers aren’t that great. But that’s the trade off with ANY slim LCD or LED Television. There simply isn’t enough room to fit in big speakers with a slim TV.
The average person won’t even notice the sound difference, but if you need a big sound then I suggest you hook up some speakers. If you have a home theater speaker setup, or good quality computer speakers, it’s well worth hooking them up to this TV. When I put the sound through my home theater speakers, the sound quality was just as good as my Sony Bravia TV.
Overall, for the price, this is a great little TV. It may lack some of the “bells and whistles” you get with more expensive models. But it’s hard to beat if all you want is a reliable, uncomplicated TV. Similar models are selling for much higher prices in the big offline stores, so now is a good time to take advantage of the Amazon Sale Price.
